T'ai Chi in Seminole Heights

Student Section

This web page contains links to T'ai Chi exercises we're learning in the Seminole Heights classes. You may print the exercise pages for your personal use. (PDF Version of the T''ai Chi Student Section)

We begin with the 8 Standing Postures. Standing Postures are also known as Static Chi Kung and Motion In Stillness. Each posture is held for 30-60 seconds in the beginning. You can increase the time of holding the postures as you become comfortable with relaxing the upper body and giving the work of holding up the body to the legs.

T'ai Chi Postures

Here are several of the Moving Postures we've learned in class. Moving Postures are also known as Active Chi Kung and Stillness In Motion. Move each exercise slowly with the breath. Begin the breath (inhale or exhale) just before the physical motion. The breath should be first, followed by the movement.

The exercises are listed in alphabetical order. Practice one or more every day.
